A quiet burst of warmth for the everyday.
This ceramic mug features a hand-painted sun face at its centre, surrounded by delicate florals and leaves in soft yellow and green. The rim is finished by hand, giving the piece a gentle, sun-washed character that feels both playful and grounded.
Each mug is painted freehand in the Mithila tradition, where pattern, symbolism and storytelling come together through fine, detailed linework. No two pieces are exactly alike, with small variations that reflect the hand of the artist.
Origin
Hand-painted in the Terai region of southern Nepal by Mithila artists working with Danfe Works. This practice draws from a centuries-old art form once painted on the walls and floors of homes, now carried into everyday objects.
Use
A generous mug for coffee, tea or slow moments throughout the day. It also sits beautifully on open shelving, adding a soft sense of colour and story to the kitchen.
