A sculptural piece that holds both form and story.
This ceramic vase is hand-painted with intricate Mithila patterns in deep indigo across a warm ivory base. Within the detailing, stylised female figures emerge, a quiet reflection of the women who continue this artistic tradition. Each line is drawn freehand, giving the surface a sense of rhythm, movement and individuality.
The result is a piece that feels both expressive and grounded, equally considered as an object on its own or styled with branches and stems.
Origin
Hand-painted in the Terai region of southern Nepal by Mithila artists working with Danfe Works. Rooted in a centuries-old practice once found on the walls and floors of homes, Mithila art is carried here onto ceramic form through careful, detailed handwork.
Use
Designed as a statement piece for the home. Style it on a console, shelf or dining table, with or without stems. Its weight and presence allow it to stand comfortably on its own.
