Lata. In Sanskrit, it means vine. A creeper that grows with quiet persistence, connecting everything it touches.
That is exactly what these earrings do.
Each pair is handcrafted by an Abhako silversmith in Kathmandu, Nepal. The delicate vine pattern is shaped by hand in sterling silver, with a natural red garnet set at the centre. No two pairs are exactly alike. The slight variation in the setting, the way the stone catches light from different angles, these are the marks of a human hand, not a factory.
The stone
Red garnet is one of Nepal's most treasured gemstones. Vivid, warm, and historically worn as a symbol of love and protection. The deep red against sterling silver gives these earrings a richness that plated pieces cannot replicate.
The craft
Abhako is a silversmith studio based in Kathmandu. Every piece is made individually, in small batches, by artisans who have spent years perfecting their technique. When you wear Lata, you are wearing something that took skill, time, and care to make.
How to wear them
To a family function. To a work meeting. To festivals. To Sunday brunch. These earrings were designed to move between worlds. Because that is exactly what their maker and their wearer does every day.
